Green Party Candidate for Congress TX-38
I was born in Tomball in 1999. My family didn’t have much when I was growing up, most of the time we were lucky to keep the lights on. As the youngest of 3 boys to parents that worked too hard for too little pay, I always knew that we were one missed paycheck away from homelessness. For many families, including mine, there was nothing to do but take out more credit, dig a deeper hole, and hope for a miracle. Unlike some in this race, I feel the cost of living crisis personally and will dedicate every waking hour to fixing it.
I have been a lifelong Texan. During my time here, I’ve lived with and around people of all stripes, all languages, all nationalities and have become a better person because of it. Community is at the core of who I am. From middle school all the way to my first years in college, I had pursued theatre, which helped me build a great appreciation of community. And when I changed my major to accounting, I unfortunately did not have the financial means to finish my degree. This, along with my childhood, inspired my fight for not just free higher education, but higher wages and stronger unions as well.
My family has undergone several hardships in recent years, such as my oldest brother’s fight with cancer. I have always had a close relationship with my family and making sure they are cared for has always been a priority of mine. Like many lower-income Texans, it has been hard to keep healthcare. I understand firsthand the cruelty of the private healthcare system that forces sick people jump through hoops to get the care they need. I know the only way to end this cruelty is for every Texan to receive free, universal healthcare so that families like yours and mine can receive the care they deserve as a human right.
Everything I do and believe is for the betterment of others. I’m a vegan because I believe in animal rights and a healthy environment, I’m a cyclist because I believe in human-centric infrastructure, I’m a musician because I believe that music is a universal language, and I’m a democratic socialist because I believe that we all deserve to live a dignified life!
I am the only candidate running in this race to fight for you, your family, your friends, your neighbors, and a better tomorrow!
What are the PROBLEMS?
“We can see what happens when the average person’s voice is ignored. It leads us to this moment, where we have to struggle for basic human rights, like food, healthcare, and a decent wage.”
Our “leaders” in D.C. can’t be trusted to carry out the will of the people. Our healthcare is privatized, our environment is being made unsafe to live in, and our democracy is sold to the highest bidder. We send poor Americans to die overseas for oil lobbies and terrorize innocent people here at home. Our wages are stagnating and there are people dying on the streets while the billionaires are amassing the most wealth in the history of mankind.
What can we DO about it?
We need a candidate that isn’t going to be bought out by big corporations or entities like AIPAC. We have the chance in this election to steer this country in the right direction. We need to demand a better future!
